Ingredients: Apricot Oil, Castor Oil, Candalilla Wax, Coconut Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, B17, Zinc Oxide, Vitamin E
Organic Apricot oil: Rich in essential fatty acids like oleic and linoleic acid, apricot kernel oil is high in vitamin A which assists in skin cell turn over. This process is the stage when dead surface skin is being sluffed off and new skin is being reveled. Since it easily penetrates the skin, it is good oil for prematurely aged, dry, or irritated skin. The excellent softening and moisturizing properties are great for face, hands, body, and hair. Apricot oil is considered a dry oil because of its ability to be quickly absorbed by the skin. This is an endearing feature to those of us with oily skin, but whom, still need to moisturize after cleansing.
Organic Vegetable Glycerin (100% food-grade): When used with other natural oils and ingredients, it can seal in moisture on the top layer of our skin while the other oils work their way deep into our cells to provide long-lasting moisture.
Candalilla Wax: This is a wild harvested product. It is a healing aid for dry or parched skin when added to face and body care products.
Organic Castor oil: Castor oil used as a humectant and a healing agent. This thick oil also helps to create water resistance as it is difficult to rinse off.
Coconut oil: Coconut oil is a natural antibacterial and antifungal. It is an excellent moisturizer, it can penetrate the skin quickly, and is rich in vitamin E and fatty acids, for skin nutrition. The antibacterial properties of coconut oil protect the skin from potential pathogens. More importantly, it can reduce the risk of bacterial infections worsening in acne situations. It is mainly the lauric acid in the coconut oil that acts as the antibacterial agent. This medium chain fatty acid constitutes 85% of the coconut oil. Coconut oil also has a slight UV protection benefit.
Do You Know…
…what “Organic Vegetable Glycerin” is?
A: Vegetable glycerin is a colorless, odorless liquid that is sweet tasting and very low in toxicity. As a food, it is categorized as a carbohydrate. In cosmetics, personal care and pharma, it is valued for its wide range of humectant and moisturizing properties, as well as bacteriostatic and preservative properties. Scientifically, glycerin is a sugar alcohol and is traditionally referred to as glycerol. Glycerin can be produced from vegetable or animal sources. Our glycerin is derived from a vegetable source.
As an emollient, lubricant and noteworthy humectant, “Organic Vegetable Glycerin” is well suited for a wide range of moisturization applications that include skin, hair, nail and lip care. It restores elasticity to aging and damaged skin. It is non-irritating, soothing and is heralded for its ability to moisturize dry and cracked skin. Vegetable Glycerin’s non-irritating and anti-bacterial properties make it an exceptional ingredient within formulations intended for skin abrasions, wounds, burns, eczema and rashes.
Glycerin draws moisture into the skin and then creates a protective layer to keep it in. This makes it an excellent source of overall skin hydration. Combining glycerin with other products (such as organic body oil) also allows healthy nutrients to be absorbed into the skin more easily.
For topical care, it is an effective treatment for psoriasis, burns, bites, cuts, rashes, bedsores, and calluses. It can be used orally to eliminate halitosis and help with periodontal disease, as it is a contact bacterial desiccant
